A Strange Request

My husband asked me to make a card for him, that in itself is unusual but then he told me what the subject was - A TANK - apparently it is the second birthday of the online game World of Tanks!  They are running a competition with lots of prizes for the best birthday cards that are sent in - well I'm always up for a challenge and I knew just where I would find an image of a Tank!

This is the card that I have made for him:

The decoupage image, sentiment and camouflage papers are from my The Best of La Pashe CD, I turn to this CD again and again, there is such a variety of images on it.  The map paper is from a road atlas that I rescued from the bin after my husband had thrown it away and everything has been layered on to black card stock.  The number 2 is a Penny Black stamp, I have heat embossed it and also added some 3D Crystal Lacquer.

I cut out another small tank image and decorated the inside of the card to complement the front, you can also just about see the decoupage layers in this photograph:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz Challenge 12 - Happy Birthday
Sarah Hurley Challenge 78 - Recycle (map backing paper)

Thank you so much for visiting me today, please leave me a comment so that I can come and visit you.

Happy Easter everyone.

Natural Beauty

This is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge, the theme is 'Wonderful Wings' and I have made a card for my Mother in Law.

The decoupage image and papers are from Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection Part 2, I find I often use this CD to make cards for the older members of my family - particularly the males.  I printed extra flowers and cut them out to embellish - I ended up mounting them onto black card stock to make them stand out as they blended into the background otherwise.

You can see the layers of decoupage a little better in this photograph, as the card will be hand delivered I was able to go to town and really layer it up.

I have used a slightly textured black card stock for my base and layers and also for the die cut elements.  The corners and the base for the sentiment were cut using my Spellbinders Lattice Accents and Lattice Motifs, the sentiment itself uses two stamps - the Happy Birthday is from Flonzcraft (I won these over at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge) and the Mother is LOTV.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Wonderful Wings

Happy Day

This is my attempt at a CAS card for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, we need to use chipboard on our creation and I have used a chipboard button that I have coloured to match the rest of my design.

The Whale image is a Clearly Besotted stamp coloured with ProMarkers and the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.  The blue rick-rack strip has been cut with my Sizzix Loops & Rick-Rack Die and coloured to match the whale, the patterned one has been cut from one of my Doodlebug Designs snips & snails papers.  I have mounted the chipboard button on a die cut circle cut from the same papers and that's about it.

Stars and Banners

This is my card for this weeks Seize the Birthday challenge, I didn't manage to make a card for last weeks challenge, but I was determined to get one done for this week because it's the Masculine challenge.

My card is for a young boy and I have used papers from the Doodlebug design snips & snails paper pad.  I cut the banners by hand and used a variety of punches and dies for the stars.  The border punch is a Fiskars one that I got half price from Debbi Moore Designs and I have used some Bakers Twine and buttons to embellish along with a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.

My inspiration for this card came from one I saw on StampNation - I had intended for it to be CAS but it hasn't turned out like that!  You can see the layers and dimension a little more in this photograph:

Lotus Lily

Believe it or not this is my card for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge, the theme for this week is 'Land of the Pharaohs'.

I don't really have any CDs with Egyptian images, nor do I have any toppers or stamps so I decided to make a card using a Lotus Lily. According to ancient Egyptian mythology the lotus flower is the symbolic representation of the sun - it was often discovered scattered in the tombs of the ancient Pharaohs.

Well, that's the history lesson over and this is my card:

The image and matching floral paper is from Joanna Sheen's Royal Horticultural Society CD and the striped paper is from Pink Petticoat. Quite a simple card really, the card stock is from my stash along with the little pearl hearts and the ribbon was also from Joanna Sheen.

I have added one layer of decoupage to the image and used a smaller image to decorate the inside of my card:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week.  I would like to extend a very warm welcome to my latest followers - it's so nice to log on in the morning and find some new faces here - thank you so much for joining me.

We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs and this week the theme is Easter. I have used a cute little bunny image from The Paper Shelter who are one of our sponsors this week and of course lovely papers from Bearly Mine Designs.

I have used distress inks to create a cloudy background for my image and coloured him with ProMarkers.  The little flowers on the fence have been cut from the Bearly Mine Designs Spring Delights Papers that I have used for my base with little pearls added to the centre.  I found the cloud pictures on google and just cut them out, inked around the edges and stamped a LOTV sentiment.

We have two fabulous Sponsors again this week:

Seaside Memories

This is the Mother's Day card I made for my Mother this year, not very similar to the one I made for my Mother in Law.  My Mum likes more simple cards and I though this fabulous scene from Joanna Sheen's Tom Mielko Project Book would remind her of the many happy holidays we spent on the Isle of Wight when I was a child.

The decoupage image and the papers are from the CD and the sentiment was computer generated.

I used the same papers and one of the layers of decoupage to decorate the inside of the card:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge 114 - Marvellous Mums
Stamp 'n' Doodle Challenge - Mother's Day

Pretty in Pink

Good morning everyone, it's Saturday already and I'm late for The CD Sunday Challenge again this week, the theme is Butterflies and this is the card I have made for my Mother in Law for Mother's day.

I have used a Hunkydory topper, but as usual I have not used it as it was intended.  I have lots and lots of card kits and toppers that I bought when I first started card making and I am determined that they will not be wasted.  This topper was actually part of a card kit, I have cut it out and used it on its own rather that with the card base that came with it and of course it has been decoupaged.

The papers and sentiment are the CD element on this card, they are both from Joanna Sheen's Jane Shasky CD.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card to match the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Butterflies
Happy Campers Challenge 12 - Flutterby Butterfly
In the Pink Challenge 15 - Floral/Mother's Day

Snowman Inspiration

This is my first post as a DT member at Winter Wonderland and I have to admit I'm a bit nervous being in the company of such a talented bunch of ladies.  Our theme for you this week is Photo Inspiration and this is my card.

This is the inspirational photograph:

I was inspired by the night sky, the snowman and the trees, don't forget to tell us what inspired you.

My image is a Hunkydory topper, but me being me, I had to cut it about a little - I cut out the main image with a Spellbinders Standard Circle Die and mounted it onto a Scalloped Circle cut from silver Mirri.  I then added several layers of decoupage.  The background was created using some dark blue spotty paper and some water colour card stock that I have torn to create the snowy base, a little glitter on the snow and some snowflakes along with a LOTV stamped sentiment complete the scene.

I have decorated the inside of my card to match the front, you can also see the decoupage in this photograph:

This week we are sponsored by the wonderful Lily of The Valley

who are offering the randomly drawn winner a £10 voucher.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
