Wishing you Happiness

Good morning, it's time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge and this is the card I have made following Shell's great sketch:

This is Shell's sketch:

and she has chosen the theme:  Make your own backing papers.

You don't have to follow both the sketch and the theme unless you want to, one or the other will do just fine.

I have used the gorgeous digi image -  Fairy Jangles available from the Willow Designs Store and coloured her with ProMarkers, her wand has been glazed and some gems added to her crown.

Sorry Shell, I just don't do handmade papers, (as the Glitter Girls would say - because I can't).  Make sure you pop over the the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog and look at the other DT's fab papers, they really put me to shame.

My papers are Bearly Mine Designs Summer's Roses and Mini Dots and everything has been layered onto some purple card stock that I had in my stash.  I put the corner through my ribbler to incorporate some texture and added some buttons and gems also from my stash.

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card:

I also made a little pocket and inserted a tag that has been cut out and embossed with my Cuttlebug Embossed Tags folder, the sentiment is a Creative Expressions stamp.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Di's Digi Designs Challenge - Show us that Bling!!

Make sure you pop over to the Willow Sketchie Challenge Blog, have a look at the DT inspiration and join in with our challenge, you have until 20:00 hrs on Wednesday 6th June to enter and the prize is a voucher to spend in the Willow Designs Store. Don't forget you can either follow the sketch and/or the theme.

Thank you for visiting today.

Now back to this weeks challenge, we have two fab sponsors this week:

and

Well, 'Many Layers' means only one thing to me - DECOUPAGE - so I decided to use some of my Joanna Sheen's Faye Whitaker 'All Our Yesterdays' Decoupage for this challenge and I followed the sketch at retro sketches - my card is very different in style from the DT cards and all the other entries, but I think I will still give it a go.

The papers are a free download from Crafter's Companion, I have my great team mate Helen, aka Crafty Mama Mia, from The Crafty Pad DT to thank for reminding me about these.  I don't know about you, but I always download freebies and then promptly forget that they exist!  The card stock is Core'dinations and the sentiment is a Studio Light stamp.  I used a spellbinders die to cut the little scalloped edges on the sentiment and the border and the raffia is from my stash.

This is the inside of my card:

Summer is here

I hope my post heading is correct, it certainly feels like it as sit here typing this.  It's Team A's turn to provide the inspiration over at The Crafty Pad Challenge this week and this is my card:

This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Joanna Sheen

who is offering one lucky winner
a £10 voucher to spend in their online store!
 Thank you Joanna

and our challenge this week is:

or Sketch
or Both

I flipped the sketch and also loosely followed the theme with my card. The image is The Crafty Pad - Beach Hut and the papers are NitWit Collections - Tour London and Aye Aye Captain. I used my Spellbinders Nautical Frame and Accents border die to create the wave border at the bottom using the same Core'dinations Whitewash that I have used throughout the card. I made my own bunting and the buttons and raffia are from my stash. The letters have been in by stash for as long as I have been card making so it felt really good to use them at last.

I have distressed the edges of the card stock, sanded the border and kept the colours muted to try and create a shabby, seaside feel.

Vintage Dress Form

I was lucky enough to win the challenge over at Use it Tuesday the other week and was invited to be guest designer for Challenge 32.  I was asked to create a card 'using 2 hoarded items' - I used some BoBunny papers that I have had for about a year and could not bring myself to cut into and also some lace that I've also had for about a year.

I got the idea for my card from one of my magazines, as soon as I saw it I thought I know just the image that would work with this design.

The image is The Crafty Pad - Dress Form Trio and the papers are BoBunny - Gabrielle, full details of everything I have used are listed below.  I inked the image, ribbon, flowers and lace with old paper distress ink to tone them down a bit and match them in with the papers.  The image comes as three separate dress forms, I layered two of them up and mounted them onto the hand cut tag.  The sentiment is cut from one of The Crafty Pad - Ticket style sentiments and mounted onto the same Core'dinations card stock that has been used throughout.

I used the same two dress form images, greatly reduced, to decorate the inside of my card:

CARD RECIPE

Image:  The Crafty Pad - Dress Form Trio
Papers:  BoBunny - Gabrielle
Card Stock:  Core'dinations
Tools:  Spellbinders - Floral Flourishes, Classic Rectangles (inside card),

Sentiment:  The Crafty Pad

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card:

This is Claire's sketch:
and she has chosen the theme:  Use 3 different papers.

I wanted to do something a little bit different for our 1st Birthday so I made a 1st Birthday card and matching Gift Bag.  The image is from TeddyBo and the papers are Echo Park - Little Boy, they have been hiding in my ever growing paper stash for ages.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers and paper pieced the number one and added some Crystal Lacquer to it:

The border was cut using Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Ric Rac, I cut the sentiment from a Crafty Pad Ticket Sentiment and backed it on the same red Core'dinations card stock that I used throughout.  The buttons and thread are from my stash:

As usual, I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front:

I used the same image, papers and layout for the gift bag:

It's time for a new challenge at The Crafty Pad and this week the theme is 'Doodle It', well as those of you who know me will realise - I do not do doodling - so this one was not easy for me.

I used two of the images from The Crafty Pad 'Dress Form Trio' and the sentiment is from The Crafty Pad 'Sewing Sentiment Tickets' set.  The backing paper is from Debbie Moore's Shabby Chic Haberdashery CD and the card stock is Onyx Stardream from Joanna Sheen.  I have distressed the edges of the papers, images and sentiments with weathered wood Distress Ink and added a seam binding bow and some buttons to embellish.

I have also decorated the inside of my card with the same papers:

This week we are sponsored by MeiFlower

who are offering one lucky winner a £20 voucher to spend in their online store.
